Blog Up-date - Sunday 21st September 2008

Johanna has been highly productive over the winter months and has as you can see from the "latest works, " has created a sizable amount of work for galleries and for visitors to her studio in Ligar Bay to select from.
Golden Bay has had the wettest winter which has gone on for long enough and which has just about turned the corner - we hope! - we have had just a few days of spring and a taste of summer which has been great for the garden - Takaka and the Bay is starting to wake from its winter sleep and people are coming back from all over for the summer - there is a good feeling in the air!
We are designing a new studio and additions for "the shed" at Ligar Bay and can't wait to get this finished so that we can unpack all of our stuff that has been stored in "the pile of 100 boxes" - The studio will have great views of the Bay and should be a great source of inspiration for Johanna.
Well that's it for now - Tim

New Blog - Johanna Ward

Johanna Ward
Johanna is now living in Golden Bay – she moved from Ngaio in Wellington in April 2008. It is a different world from the brisk winds of the capital to the land and seascapes of the Bay and it shows in the fresh and colourful recent series of oil on canvas works she has produced in the last few months. (See tab of her “latest” works).
Her studio is at “the shed” in Ligar Bay, this is about 15 minutes from Takaka, past Pohara and Port Terakohe. You will find the studio just past the main beach and opposite the lagoon at Ligar Bay. Johanna welcomes visitors, either email tim_allen@xtra.co.nz or call 027 555 0355 for an appointment.
The move to Golden Bay and a return to being a full time artist have been good for Johanna’s art! – there is new energy and although the style is familiar the images are stronger and more vibrant.
So at the moment Johanna is painting and being highly productive here in Golden Bay, there are exhibitions to attend and galleries to visit, this website is a recent development and here she has been greatly assisted by Black Pete of virtualbay.co.nz who has been of real assistance. Friends in the Nelson art scene have been very encouraging and are pleased to have Johanna back in the South Island, there are continual feel good moments meeting new friends and artists in Golden Bay.
